Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

ContentCrab is operated by ContentCrab Ltd. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to keep it readable and free of unnecessary jargon.

What information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you upgrade to a paid plan, your payment details are handled directly by Stripe and we never store your card number.

Content you create. This includes the sources you add, the articles you select, voice profiles you configure, and the newsletters ContentCrab generates for you. This data is stored so you can access and edit it.

Usage data. We collect basic analytics about how you use the service, such as pages visited, features used, and session duration. This helps us understand what is working and what needs improvement.

How we use your information

  • To provide and maintain the ContentCrab service
  • To process your payments and manage your subscription
  • To improve the product based on how people use it
  • To send you service-related emails (account confirmation, password resets, billing receipts)
  • To send occasional product updates, which you can opt out of at any time

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Third-party services

ContentCrab relies on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy, and we only share the minimum data required for them to function.

  • Supabase handles authentication and stores your account data and content.
  • Anthropic (Claude) powers the AI features, including article summarisation and newsletter generation. Article text and your voice profile are sent to the API to generate content.
  • Stripe processes all payments. We do not store credit card details on our servers.
  • Vercel hosts the application.
  • Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data to help us understand how the product is used.

Data retention

We keep your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and content within 30 days. Some anonymised, aggregated data (such as usage statistics) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Export your content and data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Correct any inaccurate information
  • Object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@contentcrab.co. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

ContentCrab uses a small number of cookies:

  • Essential cookies for authentication and keeping you signed in. These are required for the service to work.
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics to understand usage patterns. These can be declined through your browser settings or our cookie banner.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel. That said, no system is completely immune to risk, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

ContentCrab is not designed for or directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email or through the application.
